-C.G. Jung
Are you currently experiencing a “dark night of the soul” or are you feeling overwhelmed by a life transition? I’m here to offer a safe space and caring relationship in which to heal, work through, and overcome these trials. I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2018 and more recently received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I am currently under the supervision of Caitlin O’Dell as I work towards licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experience working with a wide variety of people with the utmost cultural sensitivity such as children, teens, and adult individuals as well as couples and families. I have familiarity of working within school settings, in-patient facilities and have worked extensively with members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My areas of expertise are working with those experiencing:
-Grief and loss
-Trauma and PTSD
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Eating Disorders
-Major Life Transitions such as having a baby, getting married or divorced,
and receiving a medical diagnosis to name a few
I have a unique approach to therapy that blends my training in the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic traditions with relational, existential, contemplative/mindfulness, and family systems modalities. I have experience with
interventions from other modalities as well such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative therapy, Violet Oaklander’s Play Therapy, Bibliotherapy and Dreamwork. Ultimately, I believe that healing occurs most within the context of a collaborative relationship in which one may explore emotions, discover strengths and develop coping strategies. Through establishing a healthy, therapeutic relationship, we will take a collaborative approach to support your work toward identified goals that facilitate change and growth.

I received my Bachelor's in Social Work and Master's in Social Work from George Fox University. I am currently under the supervision of Cindy Nesiba as I work towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
I work primarily with children and teens struggling with a variety of mental health and behavioral concerns looking to understand the impact of their experiences. I approach care from attachment and family systems theory lenses, primarily utilizing motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and include family in treatment to best support the youth. I value working alongside parents in gaining knowledge and skills to cultivate growth with their child. While I understand it is not always the child's decision to engage in therapy, I work to build relationships with my clients to provide them a safe space to express their needs. It is important to me that LGBTQ+ and other marginalized populations feel safe and advocated for in their care.

I believe that every person deserves to be treated holistically and with dignity and compassion in every aspect of their life. As a neurodivergent queer-, parent-, body positive-, and spiritual-allied therapist and human, our work together will be built on mutual trust and alliance, grace, and sincerity. My primary goal as a therapist is to help Black, Brown, and Indigenous peoples heal. My secondary goal is to passionately support and guide ALL people that cross the threshold of my therapy office to seek and find empowerment and strength within themselves.
Therapy may not always be easy or comfortable as I challenge you to explore, evaluate and re-evaluate your life, but I bring authenticity, transparency and humor (and a dash of sass) to the table which often helps the process.

Joe is a compassionate individual who thrives in an environment where he can utilize his listening skills and relatable personality to provide a safe and caring place for others. Joe believes empathy, compassion, and reasonable humor are central to creating an effective relationship that helps clients to make meaningful changes over time. Joe received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and his Master of Arts from Pacific University.
Joe typically sees clients struggling with Anxiety-Related Disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Joe’s primary training focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but he also incorporates other evidence-based modalities, such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Joe's most significant contribution to Oregon Directions is that he concentrates on the treatment of OCD-spectrum and anxiety-related disorders using Exposure Response Prevention. As such, he is enthusiastically committed to helping clients achieve freedom from the restraints of fear and obtain a better quality of life.
Joe has been a Registered Behavioral Technician for three years, providing individualized Applied Behavioral Analysis services for children and adults with Autism and related disabilities, to help decrease challenging behaviors and increase adaptable behaviors. This background provides him with experience interacting with individuals on the spectrum and motivates him to meet the needs of this population from a counseling perspective. Joe firmly supports Dr. Stephen Shore's quote "If you've met one individual with autism, you've met one individual with autism." Because no two individuals with this disorder have the same needs.

I have worked in various positions within the community mental health field for over eight years. I look forward to a long career where my community members, especially people of color, veterans, women, and individuals needing a cheerleader and advocate in their corner, can receive the care that they deserve.
I believe in creating a safe space for individuals to be vulnerable, open, and honest. As we work together, I will use my skills and voice to empower you to share your narrative. Therapy is a journey and I encourage you to take things one day at a time and know that you are worthy and powerful beyond measure. I want to understand you as a person and hope that you will soon be able to see yourself for who you are and not by what society or your diagnosis tells you. Seeking mental health treatment is a big step and I want to celebrate this journey with you.
Therapy does not have to happen sitting still, I encourage you to move your body as needed and welcome the playfulness and joy that comes with self-acceptance and understanding. Music can also be a powerful tool so if there is a song that resonates with you, I would love to hear about it.

Well, here we are, most of us are recovering from a global pandemic, monkeypox, and now we must worry whether our children will be safe in their schools and whether to return to work or work from home. The decisions we must make for ourselves and our families can be difficult and sometimes that can be very overwhelming. Life can be stressful; I know firsthand what it’s like to suffer and make sacrifices I wasn’t ready for. I too have issues; I would be lying to you if I told you otherwise. Sometimes it can feel as if we have no one to talk to and nobody who cares. Well, that’s not true, I care, and we can face life's issues together. You don’t have to face this alone.
I possess over 25 years of experience in working with an array of mental health disorders; anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Human Trafficking victims and survivors of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse as well as grief and loss and have guided people of different nationalities, children, adolescents, young adults as well as with older adults.
I believe in providing a person-centered approach in which your own life experiences and beliefs are acknowledged and respected. Your priority is my priority as you are in essence the expert in your life. I will guide you and help you through any obstacles you are facing, and we will face them together.

Hello and welcome! Making the decision to start therapy and to work on yourself is a courageous one. I appreciate having the opportunity to walk alongside you on this journey of self-discovery. I pride myself on providing an open, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for you to learn what is and is not working for you, to find your voice, and to own your truth.
Life can be hard, and we all develop ways of coping through tough times. Sometimes those ways of coping are no longer effective for us. I am here to help you explore patterns that may not be effective for you, and to teach you new ways of coping with life stressors. We will explore how the stories you developed throughout your life impact how you see and engage with the world around you, and we will challenge any false beliefs you may hold so you may find your voice and own your truth.

I specialize in depression, anxiety, men's issues, and high risk clients, and am also comfortable treating a wide range of presenting issues aside from those. I take an eclectic, client-centered, evidence-based approach that focuses on combining the best available research with your individual preferences and learning/interaction styles. Our time in therapy will focus on teaching you effective skills to change the way that you relate to yourself, your emotions, and your thoughts, while also exploring and validating the reasons that you developed your current patterns in the first place.
I pride myself in my deep sense of empathy, and have been told often that I have a calming presence. I have over six years experience in inpatient facilities, often treating clients at their most difficult moment of crisis. I won't ever judge you for difficult thoughts or feelings, and I'll use my experience to guide you through those moments safely.
I believe strongly in the power of counseling to change lives: I'm in this field because I've experienced it firsthand. I also know that reaching out for help can be scary and difficult, especially when things are hard. You're already making progress towards change by starting this search and being on here! I believe that all people have the potential to change. Making changes to yourself can be a confusing process that brings up some of the deepest insecurities, weaknesses, and pain. Together we can make space for those tough feelings to surface and we can work collaboratively to discover your strengths to empower you on your healing journey.
I value authentic connections and seek to empower all I come in contact with. As a white woman in the United States, I recognize the social constructions that define our gender roles, power structures, and identities and work to help my clients define their own values, beliefs, identity, and expression for themselves. I provide affirmative counseling to the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities and all oppressed people who hold a minority identity.
I am currently studying to become a Licensed Professional Counselor at Adams State University. My life journey is a confluence of creativity, movement, expression, and collaboration. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Oregon and have been certified as a practitioner of Structural Integration. I was a dance educator for over 20 years, teaching in studios, high schools, colleges, universities, and in the community. I learned the power of storytelling through movement patterns which expressed and reflected the oneness of human experience. Witnessing the vulnerability that dance embodies, I knew that there was a connection between how our minds work and what our bodies show, which led me to become interested in counseling.
